Dr. Cunningham received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Columbia University where he graduated with honors. He went on to pursue his medical education at New York University School of Medicine. After receiving his M.D., Dr. Cunningham completed residency training in orthopaedics at Texas Tech University. During this time, Dr. Cunningham was on active duty with the United States Air Force where he served the air command surgeon general as an orthopaedic consultant. He was also honored with a U.S. Air Force health professions scholarship and two medals of commendation.
Dr. Cunningham is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of numerous other professional associations. He has board certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a subspecialty in sports medicine. Dr. Cunningham is recognized for his dedication to quality orthopaedic care.
